"Keep Making Noise"
The Borough Boys had the chance to meet with MLS Commissioner Don Garber at the Steve Nash Charity Pick-Up game in Chinatown last week. The Commissioner was kind enough to take five minutes to shake our hands and entertain a few questions. When asked, “What can we do to help?” he replied, “Keep making noise.” He was presented with a Borough Boys scarf.
The Commissioner also informed the Borough Boys that he will meet with representatives of the City of New York within the next few weeks. Also pictured but has no stance on the expansion issue is Sunil Gulati, President of the United States Soccer Federation.
Borough Boys Red Bulls Outing

That’s right. The Borough Boys made their way out to Giants Stadium for the Red Bulls vs. Dallas game. You may not have been at the game to see us, but Max Bretos of Fox Soccer Channel sure noticed us. Here is what he had to say:
Max Bretos: “This is New York! Technically we're in NJ. Speaking of which, in attendance tonight is the Borough Boys who are pushing to get that second team in Major League Soccer. They have the approval of Don Garber. I was told by some of them earlier that if there's a 19 th team—the cutoff is 18—but if there is a 19 th team, it will come to New York in one of the Boroughs and the commissioner is all for it. Time will tell. Another team in New York would obviously cause a good rivalry for the Red Bulls.”
Many thanks go out to Brian and Frankie for bringing two sandwich wedges from Mama’s Deli. Frankie also brought his radio along and made sure we had music going all day long. Nick brought his never-ending enthusiasm and a keg of beer. In the pick-up soccer game, Brandon had the goal of the day. It looked almost as good as Kevin Goldthwaite’s. Danny was great in goal, but he let that one by.
A little before 7:30 p.m., we marched in, took over Section 225, and put up our flags and banners. Tommy Flags once again hooked us up with a flags to go with Chris’s MLS2NYC banner.
The new members of the group got their initiation by joining us in singing, “Hey, Freddy,” “Sidewalks of New York,” and “I’m Borough Till I Die!” We tried a new song, “A Football Team in Queens,” which turned out to be a lung buster of a song that only the best of us could sing from beginning to end.
Borough Girl Kat got some great pictures of the group. We have come to rely on her as our camerawoman. Special thanks to her for the photos she took, which turned out great. Thanks Kat!
Borough Boys Invade Long Island
The Borough Boys took over Tully Park on Saturday night. From the opening kickoff to the final whistle, everyone in the park felt our presence. We marched in, took over the far section of the stand, and set up our flags and banners. The home-standing Rough Riders of Long Island loved us. The other fans loved us, too. You could tell right away the Ocean City Barons and their supporters had never dealt with heckling before. The referee seemed to be in serious need of a visit to his neighborhood LensCrafters Click here for full story
